A prismatic grid generation method based on constrained frame

  • A prismatic grid generation method based on constrained frame is presented. The prismatic grid is generated by linear interpolation using one to one mapping between surface grid nodes and background structured grid frame. The background frame is generated by TFI method. The one to one mapping is established using a linear projection method. Then, the prismatic grid generation method is tested through four different shape cases: V-shape groove, sphere, M6 wing and F6 wing-body. The test results show that this method can avoid overlapped cells and make prismatic grid generation successful. Finally, discussion about advantages and disadvantages of the present method shows that this method functionates better on quality control and local modification of prismatic grid, but the generation of background grid frame is still a bottleneck and need further investigation.
