Three-dimensional flow field structure of ship propeller analysis by means of 2D-LDV

  • Based on the characteristics of the propeller wake symmetry in circumferential direction, the circumferential velocity distribution of propeller wake in uniform flow is measured through 2D-LDV devices at two test points arranged on a cross-section behind the propeller at a circumferential interval of 90°. The shear effect of tail vortex flow, the flow around and the flow separation condition of the tip vortex are also obtained in order to show information of the dynamic macroscopic and microcosmic flow field. Finally, the hydrodynamic pitch angle and total attachment vortex circulation of the propeller are calculated and analyzed to get their space distribution.
