Abstract
Based on three dimensional aeroheating database calculated by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and degenerated by Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD), the aeroheating parameters in unspecified flow conditions were rapidly predicted by a proper interpolation method. The heat flux was solved by the current method for the Hermes configuration. The result proves that the proposed method, compared with CFD methods, can greatly improve efficiency without losing accuracy. The aeroheating along a given trajectory was predicted. The result shows that the proposed method can be applied to provide a relatively realistic aeroheating distribution on the surface of a whole vehicle, including the interfering regions of shocks. The proposed method overcomes the disadvantages in current empirical methods.
