Review of recent progress of wind tunnel measurement techniques for off-body sonic boom pressure

  • Sonic boom is one of the key issues for supersonic civil aircraft. Wind tunnel, as a necessary research facility, is of great significance for sonic boom research. The characteristics and difficulties of wind tunnel test of off-body sonic boom pressure are analyzed, and the recent progress is reviewed. The spatial pressure measurement devices can be categorized as four classes, including pressure measurement plate, pressure measurement probe, pressure measurement rail, and non-reflection pressure measurement rail. The non-reflection pressure measurement rail is summarized and analyzed. It has become the most important one for wind tunnel test of off-body sonic boom pressure, due to its high test efficiency, high measurement accuracy, and effective reduction of non-uniform disturbance distortion of wind tunnel flow field.
