Abstract
Abstract Characteristics of wind field in hilly terrain is distinct from that in flat terrain. In order to get the distribution of mean and fluctuating wind velocity in hilly terrain, wind tunnel tests including 10 3D axisymmetric hill models, with different slope and height, are finished. The results show, mean velocity are accelerated the most on the crest, and are decelerate the most at the foot of hills on leeside. The bigger the slope is, the more the acceleration and deceleration is. Root mean square of fluctuating velocity in the windward side of hills and on the crest are almost the same with that in flat terrain, while that at the foot of hills on leeside are accelerated the most. At 5h behind the foot of hills on leeside, root mean square of fluctuating velocity come back to the situation of flat terrain. According to the test results, new models on distributions of mean and fluctuating wind velocity in hilly terrain are established.
