The effects of Reynolds number on airplane aerodynamic characteristics

The effects of Reynolds number on aerodynamic characteristics of aerotransport and fighter are studied with the unstructured mixed grid flow solver MFlow developed by CARDC. The different aerodynamic behavior between aerotransport and fighter are studied with the numerical simulation of different airfoils.The thickness and camber are found to be the key parameters to the effects of Reynolds number on aerodynamic characteristics.
