Abstract
A conservative hybrid compactWENO scheme, which is a weighted average of a fifthorder compact scheme and the WENO5 scheme, is introduced. The WENO scheme gets nonzero weight only near the discontinuities. An improved WENO weight which has better resolution for discontinuities and an improved weight of the two subschemes with better robustness are used here. For Euler system, the characteristic projection is only used on WENO scheme, so the good resolution for discontinuity of characteristicwise WENO is kept with higher computational efficiency. Numerical results show that the new scheme has good resolution for complicated flow structure with a low computation cost.
