Abstract:
A grid-vector method based on pressure database from wind tunnel tests has been proposed and can be used to analyze aerodynamic loads of airplanes. This method is achieved by meshing grid for the surface of aerodynamic component and constructing basic vectors. For the calculation of grid aerodynamic loads, a space vector method is employed to compute the main factors including centers of grids, areas of grids, unit normal vectors, arms of grid forces, and angles. When large numbers of loads need to be analyzed, the basic database of force coefficient and moment coefficient are firstly acquired by the grid-vector method, and then all loads result can be computed by interpolation method to improve computing efficiency significantly. The results of a main landing gear inner door show that the grid-vector method is convenient, effective, and widely applicable. The advantage of this method is predominant for untypical components.
