Abstract:
The propagation of non-compact aerodynamic noise in an inhomogeneous medium is a hotspot and difficulty problem in aeroacoustics. The theoretical models and numerical methods for the propagation of non-compact aerodynamic noise are reviewed in this paper. The progress of the propagation models is summarized firstly to analyze their advantages and shortages. Furthermore, the numerical approaches for the non-compact noise propagation predicted by the hybrid computational aeroacoustics in the recent two decades are discussed, including the finite element methods, the boundary element methods, and the tailored Green's function methods. Finally, the future prospective of the numerical methods for the non-compact aerodynamic noise propagation is presented briefly.
